As a photographer, it may be crazy to hear me say I never considered myself a “creative” person. Those who know me know I’m a hyper-organized, planning maniac, book nerd. I like order and clear steps, formulas and systems. If you had told me in high school I would make a career of photography, I would have thought you were crazy! However, as I’ve grown my business, I’ve learned that photography is only a sliver of what I do. Between emails, marketing, editing, copywriting, social media management, bookkeeping, and so much more, actually taking photos takes up only a fraction of my “work” time. I now realize my organizational skills are a gift and have helped me progress so much farther in photography than I ever would have expected. ▫️
During this strange year, I’m challenging myself to tap into the creative side more. To let my camera lead me more than my conscience. Here’s to letting go!
