Photo by @chamiltonjames: The Earth’s green lungs, producing 20% of the planet’s oxygen, continue to burn — sadly triggered unnaturally by us Homo-not-so-Sapiens. At times, such environmental news seems like an endless inferno of bad news. But ignoring it doesn’t make it better. We can all do more via simple, daily reductionarianism (eat less meat, drive less, fly less, avoid single-use plastic, etc, etc) but most importantly, use your voice. Speak up. Join the global outcry and get involved however you can for this issue and others. None of us are perfect, but we all share this one big blue orb and the growing collective voice is being heard and powerful, not always with politicians but often with businesses, who frequently listen to the power of consumers.
To help with the Amazon, @EarthAlliance just formed an emergency Amazon Forest Fund with a commitment of $5 million dollars to focus critical resources for indigenous communities and other local partners working to protect the life-sustaining biodiversity of the Amazon. 100% of your donation will go to partners who are working on the ground. To learn more and to donate, check out @earthalliance ealliance.org/amazonfund. To see more Amazon images, follow @chamiltonjames who captured this in 2017. 2019 is on track to eclipse those record fires. #amazon #burning #speakup for our #lungs #biodiversity #oxygen
